The Dirtbombs – Stop
I surprised myself
Having a conversation with you
You were beside yourself
But you had to admit, too
It's gone, it's gone
The flow between us
This show, this show
Had only demeanors
It had to hit sometimes
There's no use denying
We don't have to suffer
So we can quit trying
Both of my hearts
Are already broken
Let's leave all the rest
Unspoken
I feel ashamed of myself
For letting it go so long
How could something so good
Slowly turn into something so wrong?
We know, we know
We're both broken hearted
It's time, it's time
That we departed
It had to hit sometimes
There's no use denying
We don't have to suffer
So we can quit trying
Both of my hearts
Are already broken
Let's leave all the rest
Unspoken
We can remake ourselves
With each other out of the way
No more hurtin'
Let's just stop
Try not to fight it
It had to hit sometimes
There's no use denying
We don't have to suffer
So we can quit trying
Both of my hearts
Are already broken
Let's leave all the rest
Unspoken
Been out yesterday to see the mighty Dirtbombs. God, did they kick ass. Such a fine blend of soul, blues, punk and rock'n'roll performed with two drums and two bass guitars can hardly be found elsewhere. And Mick Collins, the singer and guitarist, is one hell of a cool motherfucker.
